Leadership & Team
Karli Jewett
Executive Director
A Belle Fourche native, Karli brings more than 13 years of experience working with the geriatric population, combining hands-on expertise with heartfelt dedication in her role at Highland Hills. She carries a special passion for supporting individuals living with dementia and approaches each person with compassion, patience, and respect. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful—meet people where they are, honor their abilities and stories, and embrace the moments that still bring them joy.
Karli has supported individuals with cognitive impairments and end-of-life needs in both assisted living settings and private homes. She has also been a steady, understanding resource for families as they navigate care decisions and the emotions that come with them.
Karli’s guiding goal is to make each day the very best it can be—for every guest, every family, and every moment shared.

Triple board-certified in family medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care/hospice
With extensive experience in geriatric care delivered in clinics, homes, virtual visits, and care facilities, Dr. Deb provides compassionate care to seniors.
Her personal journey caring for her father and confronting ageism has given her a deep understanding of the challenges families face when navigating the healthcare system. She has seen firsthand how often older adults aren’t heard, and how overwhelming it can be for families trying to advocate for their loved ones.
Her mission is personal: to take the chaos out of healthcare for seniors and those who love them.
At Highland Senior Solutions, Dr. Deb is committed to empowering families through education and providing much-needed respite, while helping seniors stay safely and comfortably at home.

Jenni Karp, FNP-C
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Certified in dementia and geriatric care
Co-owner of Highland Senior Solutions
Jenni is a certified nurse practitioner with specialty certifications in dementia care and geriatrics; she graduated from Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2018. She earned her nursing degree from South Dakota State University, working evenings as a CNA in a nursing home to support her education.
Her experience as an ICU nurse opened her eyes to the gap between healthcare systems and patients’ personal wishes. Now, as a nurse practitioner, Jenni focuses on meaningful conversations about goals of care and what matters most to each patient.
She is passionate about helping people remain in their homes or least restrictive environments. That passion inspired her collaboration to create an adult daycare program that provides caregivers with much-needed respite and offers a safe, engaging space for those who may not be able to live independently. Outside of work, Jenni is married and the proud mom of two young children and three quirky pups.
